When people want to get a list of websites where they can post their ads for free - that always worries me. It means that they think that posting hundreds of ads on the free sites are going to work and make them some extra money. Really?

I have been there. I have spent hours a day for weeks on end posting my ads online. You know what. I didn't sell a single thing. I tried posting my own products, affiliate links, and links to anything that I could make a dime on - and yet...after hours of work and weeks of time - I was in worse shape than before. I had wasted the time and had nothing to show for it - except an education.

Why else would you be posting ads online? Maybe you are the rare person that is actually only wanting to sell a single item and has never dreamed of making any extra money in your spare time. If that is you - Bye. This article won't help you much.

Post Free Ads on Websites - Does it Work?

There are plenty of programs out there that say they will teach you how to place free ads and help you make money left and right. The problem is, it is a long-shot. Can it work? Sure, I guess it could. But lets think about it. If you look at any of the free ad websites, what do you see? You see a bunch of people doing the same thing you are - posting their affiliate links in hopes that someone will click on it. If you look to the left or the right of the page, you will likely see the Ad compnay pushing their own products. In an environment as distracting as that, how will you ever be noticed!

If Not Free Ads, Then What?

Well, if it isn't free - it must cost something, right? No! There are free ways of getting traffic - but it isn't through ads on classified ads pages. There are ways of making extra money online, driving traffic to your product (or someone elses product) and it doesn't have to cost you a penny. Here are just a few:

• Writing articles and publishing them on ezine article directories
• Write messages on a free blog from blogger or wordpress, promoting your product (but how do you get people there?)
• Read other peoples' blogs and post comments back, with a link to your blog that you created that promotes your product
• Use social bookmarking - great way of getting people there.
• One word - Twitter
• another one - Facebook

You get the idea. And yet, the idea isn't enough, is it? Too many people fail because the idea is too vague. Maybe this will be enough, but if you need more - I can help you with that.
